Lot Essay

The iconic Patek Philippe Ref. 96 was originally launched in 1932 as the first Calatrava model and enjoyed an incredibly long production period through 1973. Perfect in it's proportions, the Calatrava continues to be reimagined by the atelier today. The present lot belongs to the second series, produced between 1935 and 1953 and is heighted by factory set diamond indexes to the silvered dial.
