Lot Essay

Conceived by Jaeger-LeCoultre with a twin-barrel construction, the Duomètre system was engineered to eliminate the loss of amplitude typically caused when a chronograph is engaged. In conventional movements, activating the chronograph draws power from the same mainspring that regulates timekeeping, often impairing precision. By isolating the power supply—one mainspring dedicated to the going train and the other to the chronograph—the mechanism ensures that timing functions may run continuously or on demand without compromising the watch’s accuracy.
