Lot Essay

The present lot is a military-issued Omega monopusher wristwatch that belonged to a former fight pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force. The timepiece saw exciting action across an extensive flight log. The watch was even involved in a mid-air collision accident, in which an aircraft was cut in half. Automatic ejection had failed, and the original owner was forced to manually eject by jumping out of his aircraft at 20,000 feet. The watch bears a RCAF-issue engraving on the case back, and the original owner has included photographs, an eye-witness account, military documentation, and a storybook to confirm the watch’s incredible life.
