The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Movement: The movement is ticking at the time of cataloguing, and all functions are working; however, a service is recommended at the purchaser's discretion. Christie’s does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
Dial: The dial is a later service replacement and has some aging. The dial has some age at the 3 o’clock side. The hands show light signs of age and wear.
Case: The crown is a later replacement. The case has light scratches and nicks throughout. The hallmark is visible and defined with fading.
Buckle: The buckle has scratches and wear throughout. The buckle tang is generic gold-tone stainless steel. Hallmarks are visible and defined with fading.
Overall Condition: Very good

The watch is sold and delivered with a Christie's branded calf leather strap; the original strap is not included in the sale.

(b) As collectors' watches and clocks often have very fine and complex mechanisms, a general service, change of battery or further repair work may be necessary, for which you are responsible. We do not give a warranty that any watch or clock is in good working order or whether it can be accepted for service or serviced by its manufacturer. Certificates are not available unless described in the catalogue.

(c) Most watches have been opened to find out the type and quality of movement. For that reason, watches with water resistant cases may not be waterproof, and we recommend you have them checked by a competent watchmaker before use.
