Lot Essay

Produced for 23 years beginning in 1944, the Patek Philippe reference 1593 nicknamed the "Hour Glass" was one of the first non-traditional shaped watches from the manufacturer. Approximately only 1000 examples were created of reference 1593 with 500 in yellow gold, 250 in pink gold, and 250 in platinum. This special hour glass shaped case with concave and convex lines was created by master casemaker Markowski (Geneva Key 8). Powering the watch is the mighty caliber 9'90 which wonderfully matches the shape of the case.
