Lot Essay

Consigned by the family of the original owner, this extremely rare, large, and possibly unique stainless steel open face pocket watch notably features an off-white dial with a "long" signature, enameled black Breguet numerals and outer track with golden pearls every 5 minutes. It is the only known reference 736 in stainless steel.

Furthermore, the watch has gold Breguet pomme hands with a Hausmann & Co. signature at the subsidiary register. Made in 1943 and measuring 55 mm. in stainless steel, this amazing timepiece has a pleasing weight and durability to it while featuring contrasting elegant elements such as the stepped bezel, caseback, and round bow. Interestingly, the seconds hand has aged to a beautiful purple color.
