Lot Essay

On November 30, 1976, a Sailor aboard the USS Nimitz purchased this remarkable timepiece from the ship’s store during its maiden voyage in the Mediterranean. The watch remained in his family until now.

This vintage Tudor Oysterdate carries a unique legacy. Meticulously serviced by Justin Harrell, a graduate of the Rolex Technicum School in Lititz, Pennsylvania, this rare timepiece is in excellent condition.

The Brian LaViolette Scholarship Foundation would like to thank The Watch Maker’s Shop in Asheville, North Carolina for their generous donation.

The Brian LaViolette Scholarship Foundation:
Through great loss has come inspiration. Founded in 1992, the Brian Brian LaViolette Scholarship Foundation awards deserving college-bound students with scholarships to further their lives and education. Since then, the foundation is proud to have presented 1,160 scholarships to deserving individuals across the globe.
