The reference 5450 was launched in 2008 and produced in a limited series of 300 pieces for collectors to see the details of the exclusive Pulsomax escapement, the escape wheel made of silicon-based Silinvar and the Spiromax balance spring also made of Silinvar. These three innovations have resulted in increased reliability without lubrication, rate accuracy optimization based on improved isochronism, increased efficiency of the Swiss lever escapement, and an increased power reserve. The result is greater amplitude stability and longer-term rate accuracy.
