Mathey-Tissot's Type XX was first conceived in 1934 for Breguet France, designed for aviation officers. With a striking resemblance to the Breguet Type XX chronograph, it is understood that Mathey-Tissot produced and assembled the Breguet Type XX wristwatches for Breguet, however they produced a very small number of similar flyback chronograph wristwatches under there own name. The present watch is one of the few acclaimed Type XX watches which are signed Mathey-Tissot with Valjoux 222 which was in production between 1950-1960.
