Lot Essay

In the words of the brand itself, CVSTOS timepieces are “A tribute to tradition but super charged by avant-gardism, CVSTOS redefines the art of highly complicated timepieces”.

The CVSTOS name originates from Latin, meaning guardian. The company was launched in 2005 by Sassoun Sirmakes, son of the President of Franck Muller Watchland Group, and talented business partner Antonio Terranova. CVSTOS was quickly established as a brand that had a highly distinctive aesthetic - usually bold tonneau-shaped cases made of innovative materials and housing sophisticated mechanisms, most notably tourbillon and double tourbillon movements.

The impressive CVSTOS ‘Challenge 3x20 Seconds’ model offered in this auction features an openwork movement with one-minute flying tourbillon, the three blue arms of the tourbillon act as seconds hands that correspond to the 20-seconds scale below, each hand following on from the next, hence the name ‘3x20 Seconds’.

An impressive presence on the wrist and fully displaying the beauty of the tourbillon movement, this CVSTOS timepiece is a highly wearable complicated watch for any occasion.
