Lot Essay

Launched in 2015, reference 1341-0207 from H. Moser & Cie is often regarded as the “smartest” perpetual calendar timepiece in the industry. Upon first inspection, the dial is minimal and contemporary, which contrasts the classical, triple register layout in which many traditional perpetual calendar timepieces covet. The dial has a power reserve, subsidiary seconds, small arrow indicating the month, along with an impossibly large date window. The oversized date is possible through a seamless transition of two disks which interchange at the 15th and 16th of the month.

On the rear, a sapphire concave caseback reveals inhouse manual-winding caliber HMC 341.503, boasting incredible finishing and an intricate leap year indicator. Additionally, the movement has “hacking” or stop-seconds, which is seldom seen in perpetual calendars. The watch has a superb 7-day power reserve which allows an owner to cycle through their collection without worrying about setting the watch. Upon rest, H. Moser & Cie has ingeniously engineered a nearly “unbreakable” movement which can be set forwards and backwards, adding to the “smartness” of the timepiece. The H. Moser & Cie Endeavor Perpetual Calendar is an incredible, contemporary calendar wristwatch that has a casual, approachable appearance, and is user-friendly.
