Lot Essay
To the best of our knowledge, the present watch is the first example of the reference 126610LV to be offered at auction. One of the most desirable of Rolex's new 2020 releases, the model is almost impossible to obtain and already has a lengthy waiting list.
It is affectionately nicknamed the "Cermit" by collectors due to the green ceramic bezel and black dial combination that was used for the Submariner 16610LV "Kermit" launched in 2003 to celebrate 50 years of the Submariner model. The ceramic green bezel is a feature of the recently discontinued reference 116610LV, known to collectors as the “Hulk” which has a green dial.
This new reference features redesigned thinner slightly concave lugs which give the watch a more streamlined profile than its predecessors and a new calibre 3525 movement with approximately 70 hours power reserve. The case is made from the special corrosion resistant Rolex alloy “Oystersteel”, the “Cerachrom” bezel is virtually scratchproof.
The present ref. 126610LV "Cermit" is preserved in new old stock condition and sold with the full set of accessories.
