Details
David Abreu, a third generation rancher who grew up in the Napa Valley where he now cultivates his vineyards, has meticulously formed four exquisite vineyard properties: Capella, Howell Mountain, Madrona Ranch, and Thorvelios. Abreu has assimilated traditional French winemaking technique into his operation of Abreu Vineyards, incorporating Bordelais planting and farming techniques as well as stunning trellis designs, drawing upon his UC Davis viticulture education. Abreu was included in Robert Parker’s list of the “most influential wine personalities of the last 20 years” in 1998, and by 1999 he had garnered fame as a “grower to the stars”, the premier viticulturist in Napa Valley, raising grapes for some of the most prestigious wineries in the area, and working with Bryant, the Grace Family, and Harlan Estate S. Anderson is not only a breathtakingly beautiful vineyard to visit, rendered even more impressive after its acquisition of the Richard Chambers vineyard in 2003; it also makes a sensational and critically acclaimed Cabernet Sauvignon.
