The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This impressive bergere is in good overall condition.
It has probably been regilt at some time and the present finish is a little grubby, marked and worn exposing some of the red clay bole below.
The seat has been later sprung and the present upholstery is in generally good condition with little marking and wear from use.
The frame has been re-pegged and glued, visible to the underside.

The lower 1/4 in. has been retipped to the front right-hand leg, this is probably the same to the left leg also but it is not visible through the gilding.
There is a patch of replacement timber to the reverse of the central pendant to the front seat-rail.
