The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
These mirrors are in relatively good overall condition.
Traces of apparently inactive, historic woodworm.
The branches are probably 18th century and appear to be a lead-alloy and have been drilled for electricity at some time. The gilding to the branches is notably worn and they are alitte bent with one leaf-drippan weakened, a little torn and loose. One socket cover plate detached, but present and coud be easily pinned back in place.
The gilding overall probably with refreshment but has worn to an attractive mellow colour with the expected rubbing and loss to the highpoints and extremities. One backboard replaced. The period plate very discoloured and with loss to silvering, the replaced plate with minor foxing and discolouration. Very slight difference in width and with slight differences to carving, however, they appear to be carved as opposing versions of the same design.
Overall minor knocks, chips, scratches, losses and wear consistent with age and use one small section of carving detached.
In generally good decorative order.
