Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In good overall condition. There are the inevitable minor nicks, marks and scratches consitent with age and use. The lacca povera tray top with some surface wear and displaying typical cracquelure, particularly to the sky. The simulated marble top and giltwood base with some minor flaked losses revealing red bole, white gesso and exposed timber in localised areas. The underside with some minor traces of old woodworm, now apparently inactive. Highly decorative, structurally stable and ready to place.
