The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
These elegant chairs are in generally good overall condition.
The painted surface is probably original with some refreshment and is marked, chipped and worn as to be expected, having an attractive mellow appearance. One chair with applied rosette missing to right hand side of front leg, the other chair with replaced moulded corner to block to top of front left leg as visible in illustration.
The seats have been later sprung and the 20th century velvet covering is a little grubby but serviceable.
Each stamped once to the back-rail. Slight shrinkage and cracking to joints, two front legs (one to each chair) with splitting to one joint, all usably firm.
Overall minor knocks, chips, scratches and wear consistent with age and use.
In generally good decorative and structural condition and ready to use.
