The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
These chairs are in generally good overall condition.
The undersides of the seatrails have been carefully shaped/rounded at the time of construction, in line with Jacob workshop practice.
There appears to be more than one layer of decoration to the frames and the present painted finish is worn and marked with an attractive patina.
There are some old stress cracks to the timbers surrounding the joints and possibly some have been reglued but all are useably firm presently.
The 20th century coverings are marked and slightly worn with some staining to the seats, it may be possible clean them, is so, they would be serviceable.
Overall minor knocks, chips, scratches and wear consistent with age and use.
In generally good decorative and structural condition and ready to use.
