Original tan cloth with central black morocco overlay upper covers of gilt scarab, decorative endpapers (extremities lightly rubbed, corners a fraction bumped). Provenance: John S. Carter (ink ownership inscription on half-title of vol. 1 dated 1930) signature to front free endpaper of vol.1 – Arthur O. Jeffreys (pencil ownership inscription on half-title of vol. 2).
