Details
Typed letter signed (“Leonard”) to Marianne Ihlen ("My dear Marianne"), Hydra, 18 September 1961.

One page, 280 x 215mm.

Writing again from Greece, Cohen repeatedly beckons Marianne to visit and reports further on The Favorite Game. “Come. Call it a vacation, call it anything you want, but come, even for a little while. No promises, no commitments for either of us, except the commitment to talk honestly, so come. Come for the winter. Come for two winters.”

On his novel, he writes, “the work on my book goes painfully slow, but I think it looks pretty good. Two years on this book and then it’s lost somewhere in the libraries or worse in the drawers of publishers, but that’s got nothing to do with the adventure.”

He closes, "I can't write anything else but Come."
