Details
Typed letter signed (“Leonard”) to Marianne Ihlen ("My darling Marianne"), New York, 27 February 1963.

One page, 305 x 185mm, aerogram.

As he prepares to leave New York, Cohen continues trying to convince Marianne to come to Hydra. It appears that she is reluctant: “Of course I understand, but try to understand how long it has taken me to come this close to anyone, and be patient. I will take care of you and Barnet with all my love. For the first time in months I feel warm and happy and ready to work.” The balance concerns travel logistics and finances—he assures her, “I can’t send you any right now, but in a couple of months we won’t have to worry, I hope. I think I’ll be getting some from my family and some of the stories circulating around New York are bound to be sold.”
