Cohen's letter: one page, 280 x 215mm, with transmittal envelope addressed to "Marianne Ihlen Cohen"; Ihlen's letter: two pages, 203 x 303mm.

Shortly after the release of Songs from a Room, Cohen responds to Marianne's letter by sending money and relaying travel plans. “I may get to Greece in a few weeks. Nothing certain. Axel’s letters are wonderful. Thank him for me. Take care of yourself. Leonard.” Marianne's letter details expenses and asks for Mary [Martin] to send "Zen Cookbook and some Beautiful Losers." She tells him, "I wore out your record hope new one will arrive soon." Currently in London, she tries to make a home for herself but has looked at apartments without any luck—"Probably do like you take a hotel room till I leave."
