Literature
Founded in New York in 1868 by Jacob Dreicer, Dreicer & Co. was among the leading American jewelers of the early 20th century. Established on Fifth Avenue, the firm became renowned for the exceptional quality of its diamonds and colored gemstones, as well as for its refined use of platinum, particularly favored during the Art Deco period.

In the 1920s-1930s, Dreicer & Co. rivaled the most prominent jewelry houses operating in New York. Following the death of its principals, the firm ceased operations in the early 1920s, and part of its remaining stock was acquired by Cartier, further attesting to its prestige.

This lady’s watch from the 1930s, set with emeralds and diamonds, beautifully illustrates the geometric elegance and sophistication characteristic of the house’s Art Déco production.
