Christie’s presents Pop Culture Online Only, an online auction of 100 lots to celebrate 100 years of Pop Culture, paying tribute to some of the greatest icons in the world of music and film, from entertainment legends Charlie Chaplin and Laurel and Hardy, through to modern day princesses of pop, Madonna, Lady Gaga and Britney Spears. Running from 26 November to 5 December, this online-only auction will enable connoisseur collectors and new fans to own a piece of music or film history with just the click of a mouse. With estimates starting at £600, the sale includes signatures, stage costumes, guitars and lyrics from Rock royalty such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton through to The Sex Pistols, Queen and Madonna. Movie greats of past and present are represented by a selection of props and costumes, including a suit and cufflinks worn by Daniel Craig as James Bond in Skyfall, donated by EON Productions and sold to benefit Oxfam.
Pop Culture Online Only will be on view at Christie’s South Kensington salerooms between 30 November and 4 December, with bidding taking place exclusively online.
