The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue entry:
- with wide margins, possibly the full sheet (the visible sheet area is 1610 x 1185 mm., and Sabatier records a sheet size of 1630 x 1210 mm.)
- some minor handling creases in the margins and one in the subject at centre-right (mainly visible in a raking light)
Otherwise as described and apparently in very good condition (the work has been examined under a raking light, but has not been examined out of the frame).
