PATEK PHILIPPE, REF. 1530, A SHAPED YELLOW GOLD WRISTWATCH OF ROYAL PROVENANCE
Formerly property of Prince Mohammed Tewfik A. Toussoun of Egypt, this attractive wristwatch from 1943 embodies the classic Calatrava-style wristwatch of Patek Philippe from this era. Preserved in fine condition for a watch of this age, the dial features the long-departed signature of ‘Patek Philippe Co’.
The distinctive ‘teardrop’ lugs add an extra dimension to this wristwatch, perhaps giving substance to the smaller case. Elevated by its royal provenance, this is an attractive example of a seldom seen reference which could be worn elegantly by a lady or gentleman.

Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
OVERALL CONDITION: The watch is in very fine, original condition for a watch of its age CASE: The case is very good condition with strong hallmarks at 5 and 10 o’clock. As would be expected, the case has been lightly polished but the case retains its dimensions and the lugs their signature shape. Light wear is visible. The crown has been replaced during service. DIAL: The dial is in attractive condition having been carefully and not excessively restored. As with a good restoration, at first glance restoration is not visible but on closer examination, the dial has been touched-up. MOVEMENT: The movement is ticking and all the functions are working. BUCKLE: The buckle appears original to the watch and shows some of its age with light scratches throughout
