This early and rare Symbolist work was inspired by Elizabeth Barrett Browning's sonnets of the same title. Barrett Browning's 44 love sonnets chronicled her deep love for her husband, poet Robert Browning.

Warm hued image on matte double weight paper trimmed to edge, partially mounted on paper and mounted on card. The paper mount with a deckled lower edge. The secondary, card mount with light soiling around edges and two rectangular areas of discoloration along top edge, consistent with age and not affecting image. Please note this work is sold unframed.
