The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is minor rubbing to the extreme corners. There is a faint handling mark to the upper left edge of the 'H'.There are a few minute accretions in places, most notably to the lower left vertical edge. There are a few superficial hairline abrasions in places to the lower horizontal edge, the largest measuring approximately 6in. When examined under ultraviolet light there appears to be no evidence of retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally very good condition.
