The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In good condition overall.
There are the inevitable marks, chips and scratches consistent with age and use.
Slight drying out of blackened polish.
With some uneven fading, water staining and rings to top.
A 4 in. long slender triangular patch to right side of top.
The frieze with some cracks and shrinkage; the left side with small replaced section to the veneer.
Some re-blocking to underside of top and top reglued to base.
The heads of both birds pieced out like the central shell; probably original. The lower 1/3 of shell replaced.
Outer wing of each bird with restored cracks - left bird's wing with tip replaced (and possibly upper section); right bird lacking tip. With some minor inherent cracking to timber overall.
With a replaced 1 in. section of curved side bracket of left front leg.
Traces of historic woodworm, now inactive.
Wear to feet.
1 in. block repairs cut into the top of both back legs.
Rear right leg with some outline of foliate carving on back edge.
The underside of the top with shipping label of Michael Davis and client 'Cameron Antiques'.

Structurally sound and ready to place.
