The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Minor wear and small but stable areas of lifting to the lacquer layer are scattered to the edges. A small loss to the lacquer layer is to the upper right corner tip and a larger loss to the lacquer layer is to the lower right corner with an associated hairline crack. Soft surface scuffs and spots of soiling are occasional, and pinpoint surface accretions are scattered. Two associated cracks are to the central dent, likely in keeping with the artist's working method, and another hairline incision is to the lower left in a grey painted passage. Only visible under close inspection and ultraviolet light, pale drip accretions are scattered, and there is no apparent inpainting.
