Copper-engraved map, 583 x 885mm on 605 x 893mm sheet (sight size), hand-colored in outline and cartouche hand-colored (even toning, some creasing near centerfold and lower right corner, a few minor spots). Matted and framed, unexamined out of frame.

2. [HONDIUS, Jodocus and MERCATOR, Gerard.] Turcici imperii imago. N.p., c.1630. Copper-engraved map, 364 x 485mm on 480 x 574mm sheet, with contemporary hand-coloring (browning, edges worn, a few spots, light wear at centerfold). Latin text on verso. There is a portrait of Sultan Mehmed II, who conquered Constantinople and brought an end to the Byzantine Empire, above the cartouche.
