The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The work has not been lined. The surface is stable with minor surface dirt and scuffing to the edges. Under UV examination a dirty varnish layer is apparent. There are a few carefully applied retouches within the sky and to the edges. There is also inpainting in the sky around the head of the female rider at left.
