The canvas is reinforced on the reverse with a glue lining. The varnish is minimally cloudy and yellowed and the paint stable on the support, despite some tenting along the craquelure. Ultraviolet light reveals only a handful of small dots of retouching in the right side of the girl’s face; two small passages of retouching in the girl’s chest, the larger of which measures approximately ½ x ¼ inch; and an approximately ½ x ½ inch passage of retouching along the central right edge. The painting appears to be in very good condition and can be displayed in its current state or cleaned, according to taste.
