The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There are four minor deformations to the stretcher bar to the upper and lower left turnover edges. The canvas is slack. There is some rubbing to the corners and edges with associated minor paint loss, predominantly to the lower vertical and horizontal edges. There is a minute loss to the purple impasto peak near the upper centre of the composition. When examined under ultraviolet light, there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
