The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall with some minor wear consistent with age and use, some minor scratches such as to the nozzles from wax removal, the engraved coronet, as well as the engravings on the nozzles later, likely added by the son Robert Wilson when he was made 9th Baron Berners, the lion passant marks on the sconces largely rubbed, the nozzles engraved No. 5, No. 6, No. 7, and No. 8, the underside of the bases with matching scratched numbers, the nozzle marked No. 5 with a 1/2 in. split at the lower edge of the flange up the seam, the nozzle marked No. 6 with two repaired splits to the border and with a tiny split to one side of the rim, the flange fully split up the seam, the nozzle marked No. 7 with a 1/4 in. split at the lower edge of the flange up the seam, the upper edge of the sconce of candlestick 7 slightly bent down on one side, the nozzle marked No. 8 slightly loose in sconce.
