The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall in good condition; as noted in the cataloguing, both cache-pots only have traces of gilding remaining on the blue; scattered scratches to the blue ground; the inner rim of one and the footrim of each with some chips partially visible but mainly obscured by the mounts; some minor firing flaws such as kiln speckles in the making, one with a small patch on the interior left unglazed in the making. Some gilding on one of the cache pots possibly refreshed. The footrims apparently slightly ground down in the mounting process. The mounts with some minor surface scratches, slight casting inconsistencies, light oxidation and rubbing, as to be expected. The sections of the rim-mounts just inside the interiors are heavily rubbed, lacking most of their gilding; one of the hinge-form joins between one of the handles and base-mounts is broken at one loop, but not unstable. A minor break to the solder join between one of the sea urchin-form finials and the top of the handle.
