FURTHER DETAILS
Zeng Youzong, courtesy name Ruilin, was a native of Pingxiang, Jiangxi, and a graduate of the 21st class of the Whampoa Military Academy. He served as aide-de-camp to General He Yingqin. After relocating to Taiwan, he entered government service, becoming acting director of the Office of the Strategic Advisory Commission at the Presidential Office, and served as director within the Secretariat of the Taipei Municipal Government.

Beyond his military and administrative career, Zeng maintained close ties with the artist Zhang Daqian. In his youth, he was a close friend of Zhang’s nephew, and after moving to Taiwan he remained in regular contact with Zhang, assisting in the early construction and renovation of the Moye Jingshe Studio, the artist’s residence.
