The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
With some minor wear to enamels and rubbing to gilt; some firing flaws in the making; typical tiny chips to the applied flowers and foliage; small firing lines and other minor flaws in the making; both with some touch-ups throughout, including the further details enumerated below.
The Courtesan- Impressed 37. Restoration to her fingers; overpaint/touch-up to the lower front of her dress (mainly near the blue crossing ribbons). A few tiny scattered chips, some small enamel losses. No chromium was found in the green enamels during XRF testing.
The Dandy- Impressed 36. Restoration to his nose, left hand, one side of his hat, the two corners of his jacket hem, his inner right sleeve cuff; the large black hairbow and the tip of his sword. No chromium was found in the green enamels during XRF testing.
