The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
With some minor wear to enamels and rubbing to gilt; some firing flaws in the making; typical tiny chips to the applied flowers and foliage; small firing lines and other minor flaws in the making; further details enumerated below.
Tisane/liquorice water seller- Impressed 24. Restoration to both of the figure’s arms, to his nose, the tip of his cap, the top of his tisane cistern, the drapery on it and its nozzle, his apron and the top of his thighs on the front. No chromium was found in the green enamels during XRF testing.
Night watchman- Much of the base covered by an old sticker for J. Dennery, Paris. Generally in good order, restoration to his hat brim and possibly to a few chips to his cape. No chromium was found in the green enamels during XRF testing.
Vinegar seller- Unmarked. Restoration to a few fingers, to the wheelbarrow handles and some further slats, to the funnel, and to the right back flap of his apron. No greens available to XRF test (gun cannot reach those on base).
