The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
With some minor wear to enamels and rubbing to gilt; some firing flaws in the making; typical tiny chips to the applied flowers and foliage; small firing lines and other minor flaws in the making; further details enumerated below.
The carp seller- Impressed 25. Generally good order; restoration to the tip of her nose, to the red ribbon under her chip and to the cuff at her left elbow. No chromium was found in the green enamels during XRF testing.
The oyster seller- Impressed 3. Restoration to basket handle and the upper edge of the basket, to the figure’s right hand, to his hat, to the pack’s upper flap and to small portions of the pack’s rim, and to some of the oysters and seaweed. No chromium was found in the green enamels during XRF testing.
The marmot seller- No impressed marks visible but part of the base is obscured by green felt. Restored through her waist; restoration to her nose, to one corner of her headscarf, to her right hand, to the rabbit’s lower legs and to the staff. No chromium was found in the green enamels during XRF testing.
