The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:
- the full sheet, with deckle edges at left and right.
- the colours bright and fresh.
- with small handling indentations across the sheet and a printer's crease near the left sheet edge, at centre (mainly visible in a raking light).
- occasional and unobtrusive pinpoint spots of stray printing ink.
- a soft diagonal crease at the upper right corner (mainly visible in a raking light).
- with black registration marks at the left and right sheet edges, at centre, each with a tiny registration pinhole.
Otherwise as described and in generally good condition.
