The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

(i) Upside Down Chair: The sheet is hinged to the backing board at the corner-tips with plastic hinges. Two faint abrasions are to the lower right corner of the image. A few accretions and processing marks are occasional. Visible under ultraviolet light, time staining is to the edges of the image. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.

(ii) Van Gogh's Bed: The sheet is hinged to the backing board at the corner-tips with plastic hinges. A fine crease is to the upper left corner and pinpoint nicks, handling marks and accretions are occasional to the corner-tips and edges of the sheet. A pinpoint indentation is to the lower right edge and another is to the upper leftmost leg of the bedframe. A few fine abrasions are to the upper right quadrant of the image. Accretions, fine scuffs and faint spots of discoloration are occasional. Visible under ultraviolet light, a pinpoint spot of retouching is to the center left edge of the image and time staining is to the edges.
