Churchill sends George V a copy of his biography Marlborough: "Sir, I venture to send your Royal Highness a copy of my book about Marlborough, hoping that it may interest you, & that in any case it will be regarded as a humble but sincere signal of my respect for one who has ever shown me so much kindness." Churchill was of course a descendant, of John Churchill, Duke of Marlborough (1650-1722), and the work would span four volumes—the final installment issued in 1938.
