The painting is executed on canvas with a glue lining and is stable on its support. The paint layer is stable and under a clear varnish that has slightly yellowed with age. There is minor surface soiling, frame abrasion, and an overall network of fine lines of craquelure. Examination under ultraviolet light confirms scattered lines of strengthening, areas of touch-ups and short strokes to minimize the appearance of craquelure. An opaque varnish hindered further inspection. Please note that Christie's does not guarantee the condition of frames.
