The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- with wide margins.
- pale light-staining.
- pale time-staining overall.
- a skillfully repaired 42 mm. vertical tear in the upper margin extending 25mm. into the subject.
- a small, pale bluish discoloration on the inside of the bather's upper right leg, possibly an old restoration.
- two small paper losses at the upper left corner, and lower left sheet edge.
- two diagonal, hard flattened creases in the left margin.
