The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- a small surface discoloration or surface dirt in the same area.
- some surface dirt in the margins, mainly in the left and upper margin.
- creasing in the upper left margin, and lower right sheet edge.
- some handling creases in the margins.
- occasional foxing verso.
- the sheet curling at the left and right edges, due to it being previously rolled.
