The canvas has been relined and the picture is stable. There is an even gloss varnish and there is a pattern of craquelure to the paint surface.
The examination under UV light shows retouching to the face, the upper background and the darker areas of the costume. Both hands have been retouched and the (proper) left hand has been largely reconstructed. Although there is some thinness overall, the drawing and original brushwork, particularly on the costume, can still be appreciated.
