The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The sheet is hinged to the backing board at the upper corner-tips and periodically along the upper edge. The sheet undulates slightly and the upper and lower edges are deckled. Artist's pinholes are to the upper corner-tips. Minor wear with creasing and a few tiny nicks are to the corner-tips and edges of the sheet and a scuff and handling marks are to the left upper edge. Very fine drying cracks with slight skinning are to the lower left corner in light blue and lime green painted passages and more are to the larger black head near the right edge. Visible under close inspection and raking light, fine surface scratches are to the upper center edge, possibly in keeping with the artist's working method. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
