There are surface irregularities to the wood panel and hairline cracks associated with the wood grain, all in keeping with the artist’s choice of support. Paint skips are occasional and a few air bubbles are to the nose of the figure. A few small losses are scattered at the edges, and a possible accretion is to the right of the nose in the green. A hole for hanging the work is to the center of the figure's head. A few small scuffs are scattered to the right side of the face. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
