The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The sheet is hinged periodically at the corners and edges to the backing board and undulates slightly. Five artist's pinholes are to the upper right corner, and minor bumping is to the corner-tips. Handling marks, graphite transfers, and small spots of soiling are intermittent, some presumably studio related. Passages of skinning are to the lower left quadrant, and three hard, vertical creases are present, both presumably in keeping with the artist's choice of medium and working method. Handling creases are scattered. Visible under raking light, a fine curvilinear abrasion is below center. Tiny accretions are occasional. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
